MARSAR'S Ice Rescue Extrication Sled is used for rapid intervention during the most
common ice rescue conditions encountered (i.e. early winter new ice, or late winter soft ice).
Respond faster to distant rescue emergencies. Unique tunnel-hull shape and runners
combine to minimize drag caused by contact friction. Features include: one person
portability, lightweight fiberglass construction, buoyant foam filled hull, easy to grab handles,
soft edge protection, nonskid contour deck, built-in ice awls, plus in-haul/out-haul attachment
points for multi victim surface rescue or rapid underwater body recovery.

Rescuing from a Safer Distance is Now Possible
On scene, this ice rescue sled becomes a self-rescue reaching device for any active or
aggressive victim. Passive victims are quickly stabilized and rescued with an attached Cold
Water Rescue Sling. Prior to extrication, correct buoyancy enables rescurer to place Sled
under victim. During extrication, device completely shields patient's torso while providing
positive buoyancy. Upon arrival at shore, sled doubles as a backboard.
