Ice Rescue Reach Pole
The Ice Rescue Reach Pole is designed to
place buoyancy on two or more victims that share a common ice mantle. Laying a safe distance from victims, rescuer outfits each person in water with independent buoyancy.
Description/Specifications;
Reach Pole System 2 Includes: 1 each. RPA buoyant handle, RPJ coated (ice rescue) extension, RPE rescue sling adapter, and RPG cold water rescue sling. USE OF PRODUCT Multi-Victim Ice Rescue; Two people, perhaps lovers that were skating hand in hand, have broken through thin ice. Your size-up finds them laying side-by-side, kept afloat by one common sheet of unstable ice. Hypothermia has compromised their ability to swim, each is at risk of drowning if their supportive ice mantle is prematurely broken. To effect safer multi-person ice rescue; A single responding ice rescuer is outfitted with two separately tethered Cold Water Rescue Slings. From a safe distance, rescue slings are extended by reach pole, and placed around each victim's body. With tethered buoyant safety slings now in place holding victim's body snugly against ice, rescuer enters water behind victims. Slings are adjusted to prevent slippage. When ready, patients are safely extricated. |
